Celebrating Innovation and Success at Our First Creative + Tech Networking Event

We told you it wasn’t going to be your dad’s networking event, and how right we were!

We told you it wasn’t going to be your dad’s networking event, and how right we were!

Fun was had by all at our inaugural Creative + Tech Networking Event on 16th May 2019, with lots of mingling, drinking and even a few useful mindfulness techniques to wind down at the end – courtesy of James and Rosa from Haptivate (interview here).

But it wasn’t just fun and games: we learnt a lot from our speakers and like to think that everyone left feeling inspired and ready to create. The evening kicked off with insightful talks by Elliott Cranmer, founder of award-winning agency, Shoot Media and Fay Canning, who spoke about her journey to making her sustainable jewellery marketplace, Seekd, a success.

Let’s take a look at some of the evening’s main topics of discussion:

Then it was “down to business”, so to speak. Okay – that sounds a little too serious. What followed was a speed networking game whereby each pair had 30 seconds to tell each other who they were and what they did before finding a new partner. (There was time at the end to go back and have more meaningful conversations, swap business cards, etc.)

Riley Ramone, founder of Ticketlab and Gofamer was next to speak, followed by Daniel Stanley of Coop UK, an app designed to enable people to set up businesses more easily. And finally, James Pacey and Rosa Connor of Haptivate ended the evening in a state of mindful calm by teaching us some yoga-inspired techniques for the workplace.

A special thanks to Waltham Forest Connected for all their help in making the evening a success. Keep an eye out for future events on our blog and Instagram feed.
