Art Trail – June 8th | 6-10 PM

On June 8th, we are opening our doors to give our artists the art trail they deserve, with an art opening!

Walthamstow is the borough of makers and creatives. We are proud of our industrial history and welcome the new generation of makers into the borough, to help shape its new identity and strengthen the community. With the breadth of talent we have within E17, it is imperative to create an event that showcases our artists and get people moving around the area.

As a new hub for creatives, Creative Works was ecstatic to be apart of the E17 Art Trail. With two floors to play with and lots of barren walls, we opened our doors to nine diverse artists from Walthamstow.

On June 8th, we are opening our doors to give our artists the art trail they deserve, with an art opening!

Marian F. Moratinos

Marian F. Moratinos

Born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, artist and illustrator Marian F. Moratinos bringings two mediums into Creative Works.

With a camera in hand, Marian creates work that centres around scenes of the city scape; incorporating architecture, industrial structures, and the diversity of the human landscape. She blends her candid photographs of the city and the people within it and combines the images with drawings, paintings, and digital collages. She creates vibrant screen-prints that highlight the life of chaotic London.

On display in the Art Trail, Marian has a selection of original hand-pulled screen-prints and a special screening of two animated shorts films, that bring her unique style of work to life.

Ray finds images within his original image, creating new life out of a photo. On display, are a selection of his max-min photography, each piece with a subjective story-line.

‘Digital photography is a mechanical, (film is organic). Max-min Art reveals this digital process of selection and presentation by the mechanics of the technology in the camera sensor, showing the hidden light structures, with these surprising abstracted image.’ – Ray Yates.

Audio-nook, is a local collective of sound artists comprised of: Zelda Elliot, Tim Burley, Robbie Best and J. Robinson. In our nap pod, Audio-nook presents a transformative, audio experience in womb-like safety hidden away on the 1st floor.

‘Cushioned into safety. Headphones, eyes closed, another scene. 4 Writers explore giving character to their play, each a 5 minute experience of a longer performance . Welcome to the recording . max 20 min’ – Audio-nook

Penny Dampier

Local freelance photographer and artist, Penny Dampier, presents a body of work centered around the past party scene of London.

‘Celebrating hedonism, escapism and pure unadulterated joy, with a nod to the work of New York photographer Nan Goldin and her infamous slideshows from the 1970’s. ‘ Penny Dampier

Surya De Wit

Surya De Wit
