Wild Grains is a micro-bakery delivering sourdough bread made from heritage grains to the Walthamstow community.
The ethos behind Wild Grains is to create bread that is good for the body, the planet and the soul.
It’s good for the body because it’s easy to digest. The dough is fermented slowly using only three natural ingredients: water, flour and salt, there are no additives or preservatives.
It’s good for the planet because each loaf contains ingredients that come from farms which support biodiversity. By using rare grains which are naturally resistant to disease, the need for pesticides and chemical fertilisers is reduced, this helps build resilience in our ecosystem.
Finally, it’s good for the soul because it’s about bringing joy to the community by providing bread that tastes great, will put a smile on people’s faces and make them feel good.
