Meet the talented team behind what we do

Founder & MD

Alexis (he/him)

"The journey began in 1999, when I first started teaching event promotions to a small group of young people on a housing estate in Waltham Forest. Nearly twenty years on and not only are we changing lives through Big Creative Training and Academy (BCE) but we can now extend our vision through the launch of Creative Works, a shared workspace and community for the 21st century in the heart of East London."

Sales & Community Manager

Lauren (she/her)

I’m Lauren, the Sales and Community Manager here at Creative Works. I oversee the smooth running of our building while nurturing a strong, vibrant community. I also lead on keeping our workspace thriving by developing sales and marketing strategies that help us stay beautifully full.

My background spans customer service, marketing, and coworking, and I love being surrounded by diverse people and ideas every day.

Outside of work, I’m always exploring ways to be more creative,I dabble in different projects, and while they don’t always turn out as imagined, I enjoy the journey. When I’m not experimenting with something new, you’ll probably find me listening to my favourite 2000s playlists.

Reception

Ruby (she/her)

Hi, I’m Ruby, the Creative Works Receptionist.

I’m the person you’ll see as soon as you walk through the door, making sure you feel welcomed, looked after, and ready for a great day in the space. I help with bookings, support the team with daily operations, and keep the atmosphere friendly, organised, and community-focused.

Creativity has always been a big part of my life. I’m half Kiwi, half British, and I studied Performing and Production Arts at City and Islington College. When I’m not at the front desk, you’ll usually find me writing and producing music, roller skating, or analysing every hidden detail in Black Mirror episodes.
