Creative Works is situated in a beautiful art deco building, Gnome House at the heart of the new creative quarter in Blackhorse Lane.
The space
E17 used to be home to small businesses and workshops making anything from fireworks and picture frames to fizzy pop and dolls houses. Currently the area is being regenerated attracting makers, designers, artists and entrepreneurs back into the area.
The 1st floor is open plan with co-working space, communal areas and a large event space. It is designed to encourage knowledge sharing, ideas and growth. It has amazing features such as a quiet zone with nap pods, a multi-media sound-proof space ‘the Cube’. Central of the space is ‘The Square’, a multi-use event space with staged area, drop down screen and podium.
The 2nd floor has office spaces and bays with lots of natural sunlight on account of the large art deco windows with plenty of space to relax, develop projects and hold meetings; The Boardroom being super spec meeting room with screen wall and The Small Room encouraging team meetings.
The design is contemporary yet industrial with sliding doors, use of wood and metal and minimalistic flooring. Features such as blackboard walls within offices and public areas and plenty of relaxing sitting spaces create room for collaboration and new ideas.
We used local makers and designers to furnish and decorate the space and bringin unique character.
