We get it—finding that sweet spot between work and life isn’t always easy.
For creatives like you, juggling deadlines, Zoom meetings, and personal to-dos all from the kitchen table (thanks, pandemic!) can sometimes feel overwhelming.
But here’s the thing: burnout can creep up fast if we’re not paying attention.
Here at Creative Works, we’re here to help you strike that balance.
We’re all about helping you thrive in your work and personal life.
We have a few handy tips to share to keep burnout at bay and your energy levels up.
1. Set Boundaries and Stick to Them
We know it’s easy to blur the lines between work and home, but setting clear boundaries is essential.
Choose your work hours and stick to them.
When the day’s over, switch off—literally! You’ll return to your projects feeling refreshed and full of new ideas.
At Creative Works, we’re all about balance.
And speaking of balance, our monthly CW socials are the perfect way to unwind and get to know the community.
Plus, if you’re up for a bit of friendly competition, our quiz team at Big Penny Social is not to be missed—we’ve been known to steal the show!
2. Make Your Workspace Work for You
Your surroundings play a huge role in how you feel.
That’s why we’ve crafted our spaces at Creative Works to fuel your creativity and keep you productive.
If you’ve got a dedicated desk, it’s all yours to personalise.
Whether it’s doodling on our blackboard partitioners, pinning up your latest sketches, or adding a few plants (we’re big fans of greenery around here!), you can make it your own.
After all, a space that feels like you makes all the difference.
3. Take Breaks and Get Outside
We all know how easy it is to get caught up in work, but taking regular breaks is essential.
Stretch your legs, pop downstairs to Hermanos or Armstrong Studios Coffee Repair Shop for a cuppa, or even sneak a quick power nap in our napping pods!
One of our favourite escapes?
The Wetlands is just a 10-minute stroll away.
This natural reserve is the perfect spot to clear your mind. A walk in nature isn’t just good for your body—it works wonders for your mental health too.
Sometimes, fresh air is all it takes to spark fresh ideas.
4. Self-Care Isn’t Optional
Taking care of yourself shouldn’t be something you squeeze in at the last minute.
Whether it’s hitting the gym, joining a Pilates class, or simply relaxing, self-care must be a priority—even when running a business.
That’s why we’re making it easier for you!
With partnerships like Yonder and other local gyms, we promote “a healthy mind in a healthy body.”
Plus, we’ve added Pilates, with even more wellness activities coming your way.
5. Collaborate and Learn from Each Other
Some of the best ideas come from a good chat with someone who gets it. At Creative Works, you’re surrounded by a community of talented folks always up for sharing advice and insights.
That’s what our monthly “Creative Works Talks” are about.
Led by our members, these sessions are a chance to learn something new, swap tips, and find your next collaborator.
It’s all about connecting and growing together.
6. Get Support When You Need It
Are you feeling overwhelmed?
Don’t go it alone.
Whether it’s chatting with a fellow member to bounce around ideas or getting advice from our team, we’ve got your back.
We also run a business clinic to help you tackle the professional stuff, and we’re proud to support charities like Mind and Macmillan.
At Creative Works, it’s all about putting the community first.
